Privacy policy

What this website collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Effective November 6, 2026.

Who we are

Coded Level is an analytics research and engineering company based in Ontario, Canada. This policy covers codedlevel.com and the messages you send us through it.

Our privacy officer is responsible for this policy. You can reach them at hello@codedlevel.com.

What we collect

When you send a message. The contact form asks for your name, email, company, website, topic and message. It also records the page you sent it from.

When you book a call. The booking calendar is run by Cal.com. It collects your name, email, chosen time and any notes you add.

When you email us. We receive your email address and whatever you include in the message.

When you visit. Our hosting provider records standard server logs. These include your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time.

Website analytics. We use Google Analytics to see which pages and articles are useful.

It records the pages you view, how you arrived, the links you click, your approximate location and your device type.

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies to recognise a returning browser. It doesn't receive your name or email.

What we don't do

  • We don't use advertising pixels or advertising cookies on this website.
  • We don't use Google signals, so your visits are not linked to your Google account for ads.
  • We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising.
  • We don't add you to a mailing list because you contacted us.

Why we use it

We use your details to answer your message and to prepare for a call you booked. We also keep a record of our conversation.

We use server logs to keep the website running and secure. The form briefly holds your IP address to block repeated spam messages.

We use analytics to learn which pages help visitors.

When you send a message or book a call, we record in Google Analytics that it happened. We don't send your name, email or message.

To do that, we keep the anonymous visit ID that Google Analytics gives your browser with your message or booking. The booking calendar receives it too.

This links your enquiry to how you found us and which pages you read. We use the link only to understand which pages and channels bring enquiries.

By sending a message or booking a call, you consent to these uses. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us.

Who processes it

We use a small number of providers to run the website. Each one handles data for us under its own privacy terms.

ProviderWhat it does
VercelHosts the website and runs the contact form
Google WorkspaceOur email, where your messages arrive
Google FontsServes the typefaces, so Google receives your IP address
Cal.comRuns the booking calendar and sets the cookies it needs
Google AnalyticsWebsite analytics, as described above
Google CloudStores our records of messages and bookings, in Canada

Some of these providers store data in the United States. That data is subject to the laws of the country where it is held.

How long we keep it

We keep messages and booking details for up to two years after our last contact. If you become a client, our agreement with you sets how long we keep records.

Hosting logs are kept by Vercel for a short period under its own retention rules.

Google Analytics keeps visit data for 14 months. We keep a copy of that visit data, without names or emails, for up to 26 months.

How we protect it

Access to messages is limited to the people who answer them. Our email account uses two-step verification, and the website is served only over HTTPS.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach puts your information at real risk, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it or delete it. You can also withdraw your consent.

Email hello@codedlevel.com and we will reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Your analytics choices

Analytics is on by default for visitors in Canada and the United States. In the EU, UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies stay off.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we don't load Google Analytics at all.

You can also turn analytics off for this browser here.

Client data

This policy covers the website only. Data we handle for clients through Coded Level Bridge is covered by our written agreement with each client.

Children

This website is meant for businesses. It is not directed at anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and show the new effective date at the top.
